Blurb!

Ever since the day her classmate Jenny-May Butler vanished, Sandy Shortt is haunted by what happens when something – or – someone disappears. Finding has become her goal.

Jack Ruttle is desperate to find his younger brother Donal who vanished into thin air a year ago so when he spots an ad for Sandy’s missing person’s agency, he’s certain that she will answer his prayers and find his missing brother.

But then Sandy disappears too, stumbling upon a place that is a world away from the only one she has ever known. Now all she wants, more than anything, is to find her way home.

My thoughts!

I LOVEDDD this book. So much. I almost want to read it again (which I rarely do, sorry not sorry).

This beautifully written story takes you far away, it’s almost magical, the feeling I mean, and just leaves you in awe. In awe of the writer who made it all up so skillfully. I love the way Cecelia’s mind works. I’ve only read one other work of hers, Flawed. You can read my review by clicking here. I had loved that as well. And this one just blew me away. It actually revived my love for fantasy. I had not read anything fantasy in so long and this filled me up with all those fantastical feelings typical of such stories. I’ve GOT TO appreciate Cecelia’s imagination.

~ Loved the writing style. It was simple yet attractive.

~ Ideas are developed smoothly. Cecelia has created a world both real and unreal, both realistic and idealistic, a world that you can’t turn away from. It just pulls you in with its riveting nature. You start wanting to be a part of that world, feel everything in it.

~ Characters created by Cecelia are all people you could love even if you hate them in real life. Describing the characters is her art. Worth mentioning here, the character of Gregory. Who wouldn’t LOVE to have a counselor or just anyone like him?! He was so goals. ❤

~ Good sense of humour. Cecelia can make you laugh at anything. It’s sincere. I love it.

~There were some great twists and turns too. I couldn’t put the book down. They kept my stomach churning.

~ The ending was a little predictable but it was woven through splendidly. I wish I could go into it but that would be a spoiler so gotta stop.

What I love about Cecelia is that she makes it so easy to believe that we all need some fantastical thinking in our lives, to make everything more beautiful more meaningful.

This lovely story might not be for hard-core realists but it’s a treat for the rest. If you have loved fantasy stories then you’ll enjoy this one too. We all need an escape from the harsh reality sometimes and so I think everyone should give this a read once. More than once would also be fun.

such pretty covers!!!

Ive been recommended to read Cecelia’s other books esp ‘If You Could See Me Now’ and I can’t wait to lay my hands on it. Have you read Ahern? Tell me what you thought of them.

P.s: Who else would love a movie adaptation on this novel? *dreams on..*
